Assurex Global SVP Meg Allwein Named in Business Insurance 2018 Women to Watch

Named as the Only Honoree in Ohio and One of Only 30 Women Nationwide

COLUMBUS, OHIO – Meg Allwein, Senior Vice President and Chief Quality Officer of Assurex Global in Columbus, Ohio, has been named one of 30 Women to Watch in the United States insurance industry by Business Insurance.

The Business Insurance Women to Watch Awards is the only recognition program that celebrates leading women from every facet of the commercial insurance industry. Since its start as a recognition program in 2006, it has grown into an educational program aimed at the advancement of women in commercial insurance, risk management and related fields.

Meg is responsible for the oversight and day-to-day delivery of services to Assurex Global’s Partner firms across the four regions of the world – Asia/Pacific, Europe/Middle East/Africa, Latin America and North America.

She has been an integral part of Assurex Global’s success for the last 20 years. While happenstance may have brought her to Assurex Global in 1998 in an entry-level support position, Meg rapidly ascended into numerous managerial roles as her eye for detail and unwavering commitment to quality became evident.

“Meg is never one to shy away from what needs to be done and she leads by example in taking an active role in advancing the initiatives of the company,” Assurex Global President & CEO Jim Hackbarth said. “She excels at bringing order out of chaos. Her ability to synthesize input from a wide variety of sources into a coherent and cohesive plan forward plays an invaluable role in the success of Assurex Global.”

As an advocate for the independent insurance broker system, Meg actively participates in noteworthy insurance industry groups and initiatives aimed at attracting the next generation of talent to the insurance industry, including: The Council Foundation, Gamma Iota Sigma and The Institutes® Griffith Foundation.

Meg has been actively involved in Women for Economic and Leadership Development (WELD), an organization dedicated both to developing and advancing women’s leadership and to promoting the issue of female representation on corporate boards.

Meg graduated from Duke University in 1993 with a degree in psychology. In May 2017, she graduated from the 18-month Executive MBA Program at The Ohio State University.

“We all congratulate Meg on this tremendous and well deserved accomplishment,” Assurex Global Chairman and Managing Director of Griffiths & Armour Matt Donnelly said. “Assurex Global and all its Partners are very fortunate to have her skills and leadership in our company.”

The 2018 Women to Watch Awards & Leadership Conference will be held December 13-14, at the Sheraton New York Times Square in New York City.
