Assurex Global Names Jim Kapnick Chairman of the Board and Elects New Board Member

COLUMBUS, OHIO – Assurex Global has announced the election of Jim Kapnick as chairman of its Board of Directors. Kapnick was elected to this role in conjunction with the 2022 Annual Shareholders’ Meeting held in Toronto on October 27, 2022.

Kapnick is chairman and CEO of Kapnick Insurance Group, one of the largest independently owned insurance brokerages in the Midwest and in business for over 75 years. Jim joined Kapnick in 1991 and has been a key player in developing the agency’s strong carrier relationships and driving corporate initiatives. He spearheaded the company’s emergence into the international marketplace and oversees international brokerage relationships.

“We are excited to welcome Jim as our chairman as Assurex Global continues to support the growth and success of our Partner Firms,” said Assurex Global President Dean Hildebrandt. “Jim has provided excellent leadership skills as a long-time board member, and we look forward to his continued contributions as chair.”

As the new chairman of Assurex Global, Kapnick succeeds Bob Klonk of Cleveland, Ohio-based Oswald Companies. Klonk was elected to that post in 2020.

“I’ve served on the Assurex Global Board for over a decade now and am looking forward to continuing our work and continuing on the strong path that Bob’s leadership has put us on,” Kapnick said.

In addition to Kapnick’s appointment, Jon Loftin of MJ Insurance in Carmel, Indiana, was elected to the Assurex Global Board of Directors as a new Board member.

Loftin joined MJ Insurance in 2004 as chief operating officer and assumed the role of president in 2006. He is responsible for setting the vision and strategic direction of the firm and oversight of the day-to-day execution while ensuring profitable growth.
